American retailer Abercrombie & Fitch was founded in 1892 by David Abercrombie. The global company owns five brands: Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Gilly Hicks, Abercrombie Kids and Social Tourist. Flagship casualwear brand Abercrombie & Fitch describes itself as an “omnichannel”. It has around 780 stores worldwide, including in New York, London and Paris, and a direct-to-consumer website that sells clothing and accessories for men, women and children. In recent years the retailer has increased its physical presence in the UK and has opened two London stores at 325 Oxford Street and 132 Long Acre, Covent Garden.
