Amazon
Amazon was founded in 1994 by US businessman Jeff Bezos as an online marketplace for books. It has since grown into one of the world’s biggest etailers stocking a variety of products from electricals and clothing to homeware and food. It hosts regular discounts for members during annual activations known as “Prime Day”, and offers a subscription that includes next-day delivery, access to films and TV series, as well as books, via streaming service Amazon Prime. The etailer also boasts Amazon Fashion, a store dedicated to clothing for women, men and children. However, in 2023 the ecommerce giant axed dozens of in-house clothing brands it offered on its marketplace in an effort to reduce costs.
