Clarks
British footwear brand Clarks was founded by brothers Cyrus and James Clark in 1825 in Street, Somerset, where its headquarters is still based. What initially began as a sheepskin rug business quickly became known for producing slippers and shoes made from premium materials. A staple design that is still produced today is the Desert boot. The brand has become known for popularising the Wallabee shoe, which has been worn by social media influencers such as Charlotte Olivia and Nathalie Cachia. The brand has not been immune to economic troubles and in June 2024 placed more than 150 roles at risk after it posted a loss for the full year to 31 December 2023. The brand celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2025.
