Debenhams Group
Founded in London in 1778 by William Clark, Debenhams started out as a drapers store. However, it soon scaled and became a nationwide and international presence with more than 200 department stores. In 2020 Debenhams fell into administration which resulted in the closure of all stores. Debenhams was acquired by Boohoo Group in 2021. In March 2025, it was revealed that Boohoo Group would rebrand as Debenhams Group and its stable of brands, which include Dorothy Perkins, Oasis and Wallis, would convert into marketplaces.
