Emma Finamore

Emma is features editor at Drapers. She joined the team in May 2022, and drives the features section of the magazine – including in-depth, market leading investigations into racism within the fashion retail industry and the impact of shoplifting and crime on retail workers. She leads Drapers’ sustainability content and regularly interviews fashion retail leaders for the monthly Drapers Interview.

Emma also edits Drapers’ monthly Spotlight on Sustainability newsletter, collating the latest stories and features about the fashion industry’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact.

Previously, Emma was deputy editor at Clash Magazine – a music quarterly and website – and a freelance music and culture features writer, contributing to publications and websites such as i-D, Vice, Time Out, BBC, The Independent and Boiler Room.

She was also researcher and writer on projects including 8 Bar – The Evolution of Grime – a documentary telling the story of grime that aired on the BBC in 2023, and Boiler Room’s 2018 series Migrant Sound, exploring the cultural impact of the Windrush generation in the UK. She was previously features editor at a group of south London community newspapers.
