Farfetch
Luxury fashion ecommerce platform Farfetch was founded in 2007 in London by José Neves. Today it says it hosts more than 1,400 luxury brands and has customers in more than 190 countries and territories. In 2015, it bought British luxury independent retailer Browns. Farfetch was sold to New York Stock Exchange-listed Korean conglomerate Coupang in a deal worth $100m (£767m) in December 2023, after the luxury ecommerce player’s financial struggles were revealed in December 2023. In February 2024, Coupang founder, chairman and CEO Bom Kim, replaced Farfetch founder and CEO Neves. In August 2024 Farfetch confirmed the closure of its white-label business unit, Farfetch Platform Solutions, to focus on its core luxury fashion marketplace under Coupang’s ownership.
