FatFace

FatFace was founded in 1988 by Tim Slade and Jules Leaver, who started selling men’s printed T-shirts out of their rucksacks in the French Alps to fund their skiing trips. The name was inspired by Le Face, an Olympic black run in Val d’Isère. They opened their first store in London’s Fulham in 1992. FatFace expanded into functional sportswear fashions, including clothing, outerwear and related accessories, launching women’s and children’s wear in 1997, and a website in 2001. The first US store opened in 2016 and the first Canadian store opened in April 2023. Next acquired FatFace from its lenders for £115.2m in October 2023.
