Gucci
Gucci was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci in Florence as a leather goods company focused on luxury craftsmanship. In 1999, French conglomerate Pinault-Printemps–Redoute, now Kering, took majority ownership. Gucci evolved into a global powerhouse under creative directors Tom Ford and Alessandro Michele. However, since Michele was succeeded by Sabato De Sarno in January 2023, financial performance has floundered, and Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia replaced him in March 2025. As of 2024, Gucci operated more than 500 stores worldwide.
