Owned by H&M Group, H&M is a prominent fixture across UK high streets with more than 100 stores and thousands more worldwide. The Swedish retailer was founded by Erling Persson, who opened his first clothing store in Sweden in 1947, called “Hennes”, which is Swedish for “hers”. Now H&M produces men’s, women’s and children’s wear, alongside homeware. Over the years it has launched designer collaborations with luxury names such as Karl Lagerfeld, Versace and Stella McCartney.
