Inditex

Inditex was founded in 1985 by Amancio Ortega in A Coruña, in Galicia, north-west Spain, where it has its headquarters in Arteixo. Its brands, Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Lefties and Zara Home, are sold in 5,692 stores across 213 markets. Marta Ortega – daughter of the founder – has been chair of Inditex since April 2022. In 2023, it reported record sales of €35.95bn (£26.97bn) – 25% online – and net income of €5.38bn (£4.03bn). Zara’s pre-owned platform, which was already available in 16 European markets including the UK, launched in US in October 2024.
