Jimmy Choo
Luxury women’s footwear brand Jimmy Choo was founded in 1996 in London by Jimmy Choo and Tamara Mellon. In 2001, Equinox Luxury acquired Choo’s stake, leading to his departure. Men’s footwear launched in 2011. Jimmy Choo listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2014. In 2017, Michael Kors Holdings – now Capri Holdings – bought the brand for £896m. Choo’s niece, Sandra Choi became sole creative director in 2013, following the departure of Simon Holloway, with whom she had shared the role since 2011. As of March 30, 2024, Jimmy Choo had 234 stores worldwide, 123 in Asia, 68 in the EMEA region and 43 in the Americas.
