The brand also expanded its reach after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drapersonline.com\/news\/castore-acquires-belstaff\">acquiring British heritage brand Belstaff<\/a> on a debt-free and cash-free basis in August 2025.<\/p>\n<p>From humble beginnings to the evolution of an organic partnership with retired professional tennis player <em>Andy Murray<\/em>, Castore chief supply chain officer Adrian Harris credited the rapid growth of the business to the brothers&#8217; &#8220;passion&#8221; for what they do.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, Harris noted the importance of moving towards a &#8220;more sustainable growth model&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we\u2019ve grown, we\u2019ve honed our approach and are now highly focused on the areas where we can win and that will drive future growth. We\u2019ve built teams with specialist talents to ensure we are experts in critical areas such as logistics, freight and duty. GXO have been a fantastic partner in helping us resolve challenges in these areas, such as making our data more robust and easier to access.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris credited the partnership with GXO and how the pair have &#8220;been learning our business together&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The people involved in the relationship [with Castore] is key to growth and dealing with the complexity of the business model that Castore has,&#8221; said GXO managing director of retail Ian Robb, speaking on stage alongside Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Castore&#8217;s offer comprises high-performance apparel at a premium price point via a digital-first and vertically integrated approach, catering to consumers who prioritise sport and are looking for functionality.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is about being flexible and not being fixed to one way of working and being truly agile. Our global footprint has also helped us keep up with the growth of Castore and stable it all the way through,&#8221; Robb added.<\/p>\n<p>Robb noted the &#8220;constant flux&#8221; of Castore&#8217;s peak seasons: &#8220;Fast growing brands are inevitably going to succeed and fail in different things and it is about sticking with it without falling out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is healthy tension in some of the conversations and that is really good. At the end of the day, everyone is focused on the result.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Castore&#8217;s Harris acknowledged the challenges when it comes to competing with sports giants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drapersonline.com\/companies\/directory\/nike\">Nike<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drapersonline.com\/companies\/directory\/adidas\">Adidas<\/a> but said the brand has now &#8220;found its sweet spot&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">\u201c<\/span>We are probably strongest in rugby and cricket, where we have both the English national teams and a large share of clubs, whilst motorsport continues to be an important one for us with three F1 teams,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of the ability to react and deliver for customers, Harris said that while Castore can &#8220;confidently forecast across its core mainline product, the nature of sports means that demand is often driven by team success on the pitch or track&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re incredibly fortunate to partner with teams such as Rangers and Everton football clubs, Oracle Red Bull Racing and both England and Australia&#8217;s rugby teams, but that can also make things less predictable,&#8221; said Harris.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">&#8220;We are also operating in volatile and uncertain times,&#8221; he continued, citing the freight spikes as a result of the Iran war. &#8220;We recently chartered an entire aircraft to avoid delays on kit deliveries, and we are now seeing fuel surcharges that are unprecedented. Our choice at the moment is not to pass that on to the customer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If prices go up, it will have an impact on demand.
