Mint Velvet
Mint Velvet was founded in 2009 by Liz Houghton, Lisa Agar-Rea and Peter Davies as a womenswear brand offering “relaxed glamour” for the 35-plus market. Initially launched through concessions in House of Fraser and John Lewis, it expanded to 40 standalone stores and 125 concessions by 2018. In 2015, Lewis Trust Group (LTG), owner of River Island, acquired a stake and took full control in 2019 in a £100m deal. As of 2024, Mint Velvet operated 34 UK stores, and had an international presence in the UAE, Switzerland and Ireland. Mint Velvet continues to be led by co-founders Houghton and Agar-Rea.
