Schuh
Sandy Alexander launched footwear retailer Schuh in 1981. He opened Schuh’s first store in Edinburgh, Scotland, that same year, and it now has numerous stores across the UK including London, Leeds and Birmingham. The chain was bought by US footwear group Genesco for £125m in 2011. Schuh stocks well-known footwear brands such as Ugg, Converse and New Balance, as well as its own brand. It is known for its diversity efforts, including the introduction of single-shoe purchases in 2024.
