Seasalt

Seasalt was founded in 1981 in Penzance, Cornwall, when Don Chadwick opened his first shop on Adelaide Street. It sold traditional workwear to local farmers, fishermen and artists and was known as General Clothing Stores. Today it specialises in nautical‑inspired womenswear, menswear, accessories and footwear with a coastal ethos. The brand operates around 76 UK and Ireland stores, and partners with Next, Marks & Spencer, Zalando and Nordstrom via marketplace channels. Seasalt opened its first US store in Falmouth, Massachusetts, in September 2024. The business remains privately owned by the Chadwick family, led by CEO Paul Hayes.
