In a year defined by US president Trump’s tariff chaos, chancellor Rachel Reeves’ cost hikes, ongoing wars, cyber-attacks, unseasonable weather and lacklustre consumer confidence, fashion retail has faced an uphill battle. Drapers’ Power 100 list identifies the leaders making waves across the sector by navigating a slew of challenges while bolstering their businesses for the future. The list recognises those in the UK fashion retail industry who are making their mark across a range of metrics – not just financial but cultural, environmental and creative.

However, the industry – and its leadership – is not without challenges. While work to improve parity, diversity and representation is ongoing, most fashion retail leaders continue to be white men. Womenswear makes up the vast majority of the UK fashion market – and female shoppers hold the lion’s share of spending – but fashion retail is still lagging behind in gender parity in the boardroom. As a sector we must continue to push for progress.

Drapers Power 100 shines a spotlight on those leading their teams with agility, creativity and innovation: the leaders who are persevering, making difficult decisions in a challenging trading environment and recognising that opportunities can be born of tough times. The list was selected by Drapers’ editorial team using criteria including trading performance and the individual’s personal influence on the fashion retail industry.
